Training Human Settlement Workers in Eastern and Southern Africa

Training Human Settlement Workers in Eastern and Southern Africa

The attendant problems of rapid urbanization and lack of rural development remain the dominant forces in shaping settlement patterns in the region. The workshop considered the training of “front-line” workers in belief that training people who can help communities help themselves.

These proceedings are divided into 3 sections:

  1. The settlements situation – brief reports from each participation delegation.
  2. Training case studies – illustrate some of the general issues that were raised about training.
  3. Working group discussions.
