Abstract: This edited volume is the outcome of a research program of Mazingira Institute that aims to promote the growth of knowledge on gender and urbanization in the region. The studies are from Kenya, Nigeria, Tanzania and Uganda. They examine and elucidate the critical changes brought about by urbanization and how they affect both women and men.
