Abstract: This Action Plan is a result of the environment workshop held by the  Mazingira Institute in 1993, entitle 'The Nairobi We Want Convention,' organized by Mazingira Institute in 1993. The workshop addressed problems of Nairobi's human and natural environment specifically issues of poverty, gender, wastes and resources. Participants represented most sectors of society. All agreed on the need for a greater commitment to the city environment. Discussions were not limited to an analysis  of prevailing problems, rather solutions, goals and action items were also put forward.
